Chipotle has better salsa so it wins.
However, good local joints blow both out of the water. It’s not even a competition.

In all seriousness Moe’s has way more offerings. Chipotle seems so limited and it all tastes the same to me. Moes > Qdoba > Chipotle > Taco Bell

Qdoba. Their new menu is much improved. They have Tortilla soup that Chipotle doesn’t have and I love it.

Qdoba all the way. They have the advantage of not completely c oating everything in cilantro, as well as having Coca Cola freestyle machines. Their seasoned rice is being banging, their cheese blend is great, and their queso is way better than Chipotle’s. I’ll eat and enjoy both, burn qdoba has much heart.

Qboda is like a Chipotle knockoff with food that isn’t as good for prices higher. That said, I got a burrito from a local place. My stomach is still feeling the weapon of hunger destruction an hour later.

Qdoba has way better queso.

Chipotle. Qd oba is just bland.

Qdoba. Largely for the queso.

Oh yeah I’d take a small Mexican joint over then if I have the time.

Has Qdoba had wides pread and repeated norovirus outbreaks traced back to them? I’ve never had either, and probably won’t ever wander into a Chipotle in the near future , so probably Qdoba,

I’ve only been to Qdoba a couple of times. I don’t care for it; their food is mostly enormous gut bombs. I can’t eat even half of one in a sitting, and they just don’t keep very well for later reheating.

The shear thought of going to a chain for mexican food here in socal seems offensive to me lol. But a burrito is by far my favorite airport food when I can find one and will gladly go to a Qdoba to get one. The nice thing about burritos in airports is that they usually serve lunch burritos even if its breakfast time. I dont want damn microwaved eggs in a tortilla, id rather have meats! I havent seen a Chipotle in an airport so thats the only reason for my preference.

I’m honestly surprised Chipotle doesn’t have a presence in the Netherlands. They have restaurants in London, it doesn’t feel like it would be out of place to have a few in Amsterdam if nothing else.

Did not know Q doba was still around, but at Chipotle:
bowl, brown rice, black beans, chicken, veggies, cheese, corn, lettuce, soder
![]() 10/17/2019 at 15:36 |

I’ve been to Chipotle loads of times and they’re not as good as they used to be, what with the E Coli scares, the steak transition to sou vide instead of fresh preparation, and constant lack of awareness that their customers have only when they are ordering in front of me and have no idea what they want when I can get in and out with out a prepaid online order in 2.5 minutes off peak. I love their cilantro rice and black bean combo so that’s why I go.
I went to Qdoba once and I couldn’t see what the fuss was about. The assembly line was slow and indifferent, the ingredients inconsistently cooked, and the queso sauce was fine but I didn’t really want it. To be fair, Chipotle’s is worse.
Should I try again?

Not a fan, it’s the Tostitos of mexican restaurants

w ould be the correct answer for “best chain fastfood mexican ”. Specificially the fire girlled steak burrito, enchillada style:
But if I have the time to sit down somewhere, I’m going to El Tios (local jam). Their lechoncito al horno is awesome
, steak burritos are great,
and the margaritas are the size of my head. I may eat there enough to be on a first name basis with most of the staff (including the owner).
DC/NoVA O ppos, get on this! They are in Haymarket, McLean, Falls Church, DC proper, and my homebase, Great Falls, in the Safeway shopping center across the road from Katie’ s.

I would enjoy a small Mexican joint right about now.....

Qdoba hands down. Mostly because we have no Chipotles here and Qdoba has Ancho Chilli BBQ. I’ve had Chipotle once, it was good but not really memorable. I do remember that feeling of new restaurant menu terror though as I hadn’t even been there before and there were people behind me.
There is also Panchero’s which is good, and there might be a Moe’s here? IDK, never been there.
Edit: We used to have a Moe’s, but it closed down suddenly and unexpectedly.

Chipotle for sure. I’ve been to Qdoba twice and was severely disappointed both times.
![]() 10/17/2019 at 16:47 |

Moes > those two, that said the local place gets my business unless I”m traveling and which case Moes is one of our go to road trip stops for family road trips as my kids love Moes so its a win win for us.
I haven’t eaten at Qdoba since they redid their menu but my students are clearly divided in the above Qdoba vs. Chipotle debate.
![]() 10/17/2019 at 16:52 |

I swear I cannot tell the difference in taste or quality between the two except for the better queso at Qdoba. Depends on the convenience and cost. The Qdoba in my college town did $5 burrito and drink every Wednesday. Two of those would hit the spot. There are a lot more Chipotle’s near me, so they currently have the advantage.
Side note, has anyone heard someone pronounce it “Kwa-do-ba”? I have a friend who does and it drives me nuts.
![]() 10/17/2019 at 16:52 |

Hard to justify either one even in KC when local places like Burrito Bros and Panchos stomp both. The former is a similar format to Chipotle, trading some variety for MUCH better quality. The later is legitimately
close to being
SoCal good.

It really grinds my gears when they ask “W hat kinda protein would you like?” when building my burrito.
I don’t want protein, I want meat. I don’t care about the tofu dorks that are offended by the thought of meat. The only reason the tofu is in any way palatable is that it’s cooked on the same grilles as the meat, and gets the inevitable meat residue on it.

I fell in love with Moe’s when I lived in Florida, and I was so happy there was a Moe’s right down the road from me when I moved to Oregon- and it was the only one in the PNW!
Shortly after moving here, they shut their doors with no warning or explanation. That one still hurts. :’(

Out those two I would go for Qdoba. But what is better than both Qdoba and Chipotle is Pancheros. They recently came to South Dakota and they blow all of the other fast food Tex mex places out of the water. They use fresh pressed tortillas, which i think is the most important part of a good buritto. They also mix everything up before they roll it up, so you wont have one bite of nothing but rice or sour cream. They are all over the midwest but mostly in Iowa, if you ever get a chance give them a try you wont be dissapointed.

Qdoba. All the Chipotles around here burn the crap out of their meats and Qdoba steams their tortillas so that they're less like to break.

The question here really is is do you feel lucky? I mean do you feel like you can beat listeria?
Qdoba all the way.
